Jim is an attorney admitted to practice in New York, with more than 30 years of professional experience in the areas of taxation, investing, retirement planning, estate planning, personal finance and related legal matters.
His specialty is explaining complex tax, financial and legal matters in clear English for both professional and general audiences. He has worked with partners at all the Big Four accounting firms, and with leaders of private businesses and leading publishing firms educating their employees, clients, and the public about these matters.
Jim was the founding co-editor of Tax Hotline, which became the largest circulation tax newsletter in the U.S., and was a long-time editor of and contributor to other publications of Boardroom Inc, now Bottom Line Inc. (Bottom Line/Personal, Boardroom Reports, Moneysworth, Boardroom Books). Jim also was tax columnist for Time Inc.'s Mutual Funds Magazine. Before joining Ed Slott & Company, Jim's clients had included PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, Delpion Inc, Korn Ferry International, Morgan Stanley and Lexis-Nexis, among others.
