Has the old forum been shut down for new posts? I haven’t seen any since last Friday nor can I see a way to post a new thread now. Just curious, especially after all the garbage that was being posted by a particular spammer.

Me too. I assume that the inability to post is tantamount to a shutdown, probably because of the constant spamming. But just a guess, wish some one would tie all this together.

I am very disappointed that the Old Forum has been shout down. It was much easier to use. I had been checking if for 6 years and found it very useful. Why could they not have just deleted any spam messages!

The old Forum was much easier to use.
More importantly, since giving my e-mail address as required to register for this Forum, I have received a dozen spam messages (at my e-mail address) all listing the same Forum topic as the ostensible subject matter. It gets tiring deleting these every day or two and who knows how my address will be misused in the future.
Instead of requiring an e-mail address, this site could have a user name and password, assuming these would not be posted on the Forum site the way one’s e-mail address now is.

You can ceate a separate email address just for this forum, then the junk mail will just die on the vine.
