Stopping Simple Plan After Initial Set-Up

I have a client that had a simple plan with a wirehouse that has been in existance for several years (greater than 2). We decided to move the simple plan to a different provider. Forms were signed and all the simple plans were opened. 3 transfers took place from the old custodian to the new provider and the old accounts were closed. Before any new contributions were made, it was decided that this relationship would not go forward. Do we need to continue the new simple plan for the remainder of the year. Can we reestablish simple accounts with the old provider?
