RMD from an Inherited IRA and also from a Traditional IRA

If someone is over 70 1/2 and is taking an RMD from a Traditional IRA and also has an Inherited IRA and needs to take an RMD, Can these two RMD’s be combined to come out of one account or do they have to be taken from each separate account? Just wondering if they can take the entire RMD from both accounts out of the Traditional IRA or the Inherited IRA.

Thank you.

The RMDs must be separately satisfied from the owned IRA and the inherited IRA. The one exception would be for a sole beneficiary spouse who elects to assume ownership of the inherited IRA as that would result in just an owned IRA.
