my gift to my son, then added to 529 for HIS son = tax deduction for my son?
1. If I give a $5,000 gift to my son Steve
2. Steve (the custodian of a 529 plan for HIS son, Jackson<>) adds the $5,000 to the 529.
Question: Does Steve get a tax deduction on his state taxes?
We all live in NYS and it’s a NYS 529
